Tales from the Silver Age - The Greatest Green Lantern of All

The Greatest Green Lantern of All

Story by Elliot Maggin from an idea by Neal Adams
Artwork by Dick Dillin and Dick Giordano

I came across this page while surfing the web today. It contains scans of a short story entitled “The Greatest Green Lantern of All”. It is a Silver Age tale about the destruction of Krypton and why the Green Lantern and Guardians of the Universe were unable to prevent it. As a special bonus, we learn that the Guardians had discovered an infant on Krypton named Kal-El, the son of Lara and Jor-El, had the genetics to become the Greatest Green Lantern of All, and they decided that he would lead the Corp one day. As we all know, destiny had other plans for him, but this is a very good story that I suggest everyone read.

It is also very cool considering Grant Morrison’s ending to the DC One Million storyline.

This originally appeared in Superman #257, so I highly recommend buying the actual issue if you enjoy this tale.
